Skynopy is a fast-growing New Space company building the next generation of ground infrastructure to connect with satellites around the world. ## Skynopy Infrastructure Skynopy is building a secure, cloud-integrated platform that lets satellite operators communicate with their satellites through one unified interface. Our system combines our own antennas, partner networks, and private stations connected through Skynopy technology. Core components include: - A central API for booking and monitoring satellite contacts - Real-time data streaming and delivery pipelines - Automated workers for station configuration and management - Logging, monitoring, and storage for mission and operational data --- ## Job Description -**KPI & Data Platform** We are looking for a **Junior Software Engineer** to help improve the foundation of Skynopy's **monitoring and KPI platform**, used daily to operate our antennas and demonstrate service performance to customers. You will work at the intersection of **backend development, cloud infrastructure, and satellite operations**, transforming **live operational data** into **production-grade metrics, alerts, and dashboards**. This is a **hands-on engineering role** on **distributed systems**, running across **on-premise and cloud infrastructure**, with a strong focus on **backend development and observability stacks**. You will focus on two main components: the operational part and the business KPIs. ### Operations & Satellite Monitoring - Design and develop **backend services** within a **distributed, event-driven architecture** - Process data from satellite passes and ground stations using **brokers and streaming pipelines** - Work with **metrics, logs, and alerting** to monitor system and mission health - Debug and analyze anomalies in **production systems** during real satellite contacts ### Business KPIs & SLAs - Build **robust data pipelines** to compute customer KPIs - Expose performance indicators through **APIs and streaming protocols** - Aggregate data from **on-prem and cloud systems** into unified metrics - Support **automated SLA tracking** with reliable, reproducible measurements You will contribute to **real satellite operations**, working on **production distributed systems**, with modern **backend and observability technologies**, and a **direct impact** on reliability and customer trust. --- ## Qualifications - Strong academic background in software concepts - Good programming skills (know at least one programming language such as Python) - Solid understanding of relational databases - Interest in data engineering, observability, and backend systems **Nice to have** - Experience with AWS or cloud environments - Familiarity with logging/metrics dashboards (Grafana, Datadog, etc.) - Curiosity for space systems and satellite operations **ISO 9001** The employee contributes to Skynopy's Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 requirements by applying internal processes, ensuring proper traceability of activities, and supporting continuous improvement.
